An 8-Hour Driver Improvement Clinic, complete 12-Hour RADEP and 4-Hour Supplemental RADEP do not serve the same purpose. We place significant emphasis on helping students understand those differences before they register.
Students should understand what they were instructed to complete, which format may be accepted and which program actually corresponds to their individual requirement.
Damon Hogan serves as Program Administrator of Driver Training Solutions LLC and brings more than 20 years of experience in Virginia Driver Improvement and traffic-safety education.
His professional background includes Driver Improvement instruction, driving instruction and experience in air traffic control—fields in which awareness, judgment, anticipation and risk management are critical.
That experience supports an instructional approach that goes beyond memorizing traffic rules. Effective driver education should help a driver recognize developing hazards, understand the consequences of poor decisions, manage emotion and distraction and make safer choices before a dangerous situation develops.

Many students arrive knowing only that a court, DMV notice, attorney or other authority told them to take “a class.” That does not mean every available course is interchangeable.
