Students completing the full Reckless and Aggressive Driver Education Program complete both the 8-Hour Driver Improvement component and the additional 4-Hour RADEP behavioral component.

Students who have already completed an acceptable Virginia 8-Hour Driver Improvement course may complete the supplemental four-hour RADEP component when appropriate for their requirement.

CDL License Holders
These regular Driver Improvement classes do not satisfy a requirement to complete Virginia's separate commercial driver improvement clinic for CDL license holders.
Which Class Do You Need?
Driver Improvement or RADEP?
Driver Improvement and RADEP are related programs, but they are not interchangeable. The paperwork provided by the DMV, court, attorney or other referring authority should identify the program you are expected to complete.

Register for the 8-Hour Virginia Driver Improvement classroom course unless the referring authority gives you different instructions.
Your Paperwork Says 12-Hour RADEP
The complete classroom RADEP program consists of the 8-Hour Driver Improvement Part 1 plus the additional 4-Hour RADEP Part 2.
You Already Completed the 8-Hour Course
An acceptable 8-Hour Driver Improvement certificate may allow you to complete only the supplemental 4-Hour RADEP component when approved for your requirement.
